A man featured on Shark Tank in 2012 along with his three brothers was killed in a car accident earlier this year. His brothers appeared in an update segment on tonight’s episode, revealing that Keith “KJ” Mastronardo died. The four got an investment from Barbara Corcoran in their organic skin care line Nardo’s Natural. The Tampa Bay Times reported that on March 19, KJ “swerved his motorcycle to avoid hitting [an] animal” and “lost control and was thrown off the motorcycle, landing in the path of a Toyota heading west on Belleair Road [in Clearwater, Fla.], which struck him.” His obituary says he “moved to Florida to join his three brothers, [his girlfriend] Megan followed and is teaching k-5th grade,” while he and Megan “planned to be married soon.” On tonight’s episode, one of his brothers said, “A large piece of our family and business has been lost, but it’s made us bond as brothers, and we’re doing our best to remain positive to continue pursuing the American dream.” View the or

Dancing with the Stars eliminated no one last night after all viewer votes were thrown out because incorrect phone numbers were displayed last week, resulting in viewers voting for people they didn’t intend to vote for. While first pretending they were going to eliminate someone at the end of the episode (“so mean,” Brooke observed), Tom Bergeron explained: “Last week, at the end of the show we had a technical problem in the broadcasts of the eastern and central time zones. The incorrect phone numbers were shown and may have resulted in some votes accidentally cast for the wrong couple. So, in fairness, we have decided to discard all the viewer votes and not eliminate anyone this week.” Brooke said that “all of the judges stores and bonus points from tonight will carry over to next week,” but neither said whether there will be a double elimination, which would make sense to keep the show on track for its finale. TNT has ordered an interesting new food competition series from Mark Burnett’s One Three Media called On the Menu : each episode’s winning dish will go on the menu at the next day. Here’s how TNT describes the show: “Each episode of On the Menu will center on a different American food business — ranging from restaurant chains and stadium concession stands to amusement parks and cruise lines. Passionate home cooks, working in conjunction with professional chefs, will be challenged to create the business’ next signature menu item. The winning dish will immediately go on the menu, giving viewers at home the chance to go try the dish the very next day.” There’s no way this show won’t feature heavy product integration via the “food business” being featured, and that can work ( The Pitch ) or be overwrought and annoying ( Undercover Boss ), so I hope that the sell to viewers is not too heavy handed. Rumours circulated earlier this week that the ‘Forget You’ singer could be facing the chop from the show due to his recent drug charges, however, that doesn’t seem to be the case, according to TMZ. The singer recently pleaded not guilty to the charge for allegedly giving a woman ecstasy or MDMA during a dinner event in 2012. The woman claimed that Cee-Lo slipped ecstasy into her drink and she woke up in bed, naked, next to the singer. The cast of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy reunited on Bravo last night, and although it was an Andy Cohen-hosted reunion with all of its usual annoyances, the hour offered a lot of insight, and made one thing exceedingly clear: Bravo needs to resurrect this show, now. With a few exceptions, Bravo has been mired in a swamp of asshole-fueled reality shows, and what it really needs is the joy, positivity, and authenticity that Queer Eye brought to the network—and helped define the network as a home of smart reality TV. Carson Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez proved during the reunion that TV still needs them. Laura Morett, who’s married and has kids, says that tonight’s episode will suggest that there was some kind of intimacy between her and someone else even though the situation was “innocent” and thus she’s “offended” that the network is “implying anything inappropriate” took place. Newark mayor Cory Booker was elected to the United States Senate yesterday, which The Star-Ledger reports “makes history” because he’s “the first African-American to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate.” He is also the first former reality TV show cast member to become a senator. An ITV Lorraine survey has highlighted that couples DO believe that fertility is affected by sexual position. The survey of nearly 1200 participants has shown that when trying for a baby, one in three (31%) believe the position they adopt during sex can affect fertility, with nearly a third (30%) of couples sticking their legs in the air to help them conceive. When it comes to wanting to start a family, the Lorraine Baby Race survey has shown that of those asked, 30% took over a year to conceive, with 37% only having sex up to three times a month and nearly one in ten (8%) not having had sex in over 3 months. Focusing on issues around infertility, the survey found that 3 in 4 of those asked know a couple suffering from infertility and the same amount suffering fertility issues due to male factors, ie low sperm count. Hotel Impossible broke the fourth wall repeatedly last night as Anthony Melchiorri worked on the Hurricane Sandy-destroyed Thunderbird Motel in Seaside Heights, N.J., and eventually walked off the job because of horrific behavior from the family that owned it. He’d actually found a hotel that it was impossible to help, kind of like the now-famous Amy’s Baking Company episode of Kitchen Nightmares . The two-part episode is coming near the end of the show’s third season (it’s been renewed for a fourth), and was framed as an uplifting post-Sandy makeover, but the hotel turned out to be not exactly worthy of the show’s time, effort, or resources. It was an unexpected twist, because I thought it would be two episodes of devastation and sympathy. Her segment came in a strong episode that ended with a dramatic segment that illustrates the show’s greatness, especially now that Mark Cuban is part of it. Edna’s pitch included her emotional story and fun moments like Edna offering product samples—i.e. plastic panties—to the sharks, and was probably the most polite presentation, rejection, and reaction in the history of the series. “Thank your feedback and time,” Edna told each shark when they rejected her.
