No comments Coronation Street’s Jim McDonald will make a return to the ITV soap this spring but he won’t be around for very long. The Northern Irish man is desperate to buy The Rovers Return from his son Steve but when he fails to raise the cash from all legitimate sources, he gets desperate and decides to hold up Weatherfield Building Society. Jim barges into the establishment, holding a gun and screaming at staff: “I’ve got a gun. So if you know what’s good for you, my friend, you’ll fill that bag to the top with all your cash, so you will.” However things take a negative turn when a scared worker presses the panic button and summons the police. A hostage situation arises and McDonald insists on speaking to his ex-wife. No comments Jim McDonald is set to return to Coronation Street and insiders say that he won’t leave alone. The loud Irish man, played by Charles Lawson, was last seen on the ITV soap before Christmas when he was beaten up and left for dead in an attack arranged by his ex-wife’s boyfriend Owen Armstrong. Inside Soap now reports that Jim will return on March the 14th and make a ‘shocking suggestion’ to Liz McDonald, who will have recently returned from Spain. Beverley Callard, who plays Liz, recently revealed that she is leaving the show , so Jim’s return will most likely be linked with her departure and discussing the plot in a recent interview, Callard told Bang Showbiz: “It’s a fantastic exit and it’s absolutely massive, but Liz may not be leaving on her own!” Follow us on Twitter ! The Coronation Street schemer is found out cold on the cobbles with a serious head wound and after witnesses confirm that Becky was last seen arguing with her husband’s ex, she seems like the most likely suspect. The blonde bombshell has played feisty barmaid Becky McDonald for almost five years, and is said to be keen to try some new roles. Corrie boss Phil Collinson has reportedly promised to keep the door open for her return in the future. A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “It came as a huge blow to everyone but, after nearly five years playing Becky, they understood her decision. She wants to go off and try other roles. Becky is one of the soap’s most popular characters and since they teamed her up with Steve they’ve quickly become one of the soap world’s favourite couples. “It was a really hard decision for Katherine as she adores Corrie.
