Set in wartime Britain, the episode sees Claire Skinner in the role of war widow Madge Arwell, who, along with her two young children, have been evacuated to the countryside. And when Madge and the children arrive at their new home, they meet The Caretaker, who is of course none other than the Doctor! Bravo announced this morning that the Sept. 5 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will stand, and the season will include PSAs about suicide prevention. That’s in response to the death of cast member Russell Armstrong, who killed himself and had complained that “Bravo bastards” created “bullshit” about his life. Bravo president Frances Berwick said in a statement, “Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Re-editing of the episodes is still underway.” She said the network “has partnered with the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) to raise awareness about suicide prevention,” and will be promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-8255) online. View the original article here

The writer of the BBC One sci-fi show explained while the series always includes outlandish storylines, he wanted to make ‘Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol’ even more bizarre, as he knew the Christmas Day (25.12.10) audience would be either on a sugar high or drunk. He said: “The baseline of ‘Doctor Who’ is a man who lives in a telephone box and wears a bow tie so we had to make it more bonkers than that. Most of the audience on Christmas Day will have had a selection box for breakfast or still be drunk, so a normal episode of ‘Doctor Who’ wouldn’t be enough.” Steven admitted while the one-off festive episode does feature plenty of eye-opening scenes, he also wanted it to have an “emotional” feel for his audience.
