Coronation Street: Kym Marsh is released from hospital

The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – whose son Archie died in February 2009 after he was born 18 weeks early – has spent a week under medical observation after having steroid treatment to protect her unborn baby girl’s lungs but has now been allowed to return home to fiance Jamie Lomas. A spokesperson for the show told the Mail Online website: “I spoke to her and she’s in good spirits. She’s been backwards and forwards to hospital since she went on maternity leave as they’re monitoring her carefully, but she’s doing really well.” The 34-year-old actress – who also has children David, 15, and 13-year-old Emily from a previous relationship – has also been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, meaning doctors have to keep a closer eye on her to prevent her going into early labour. No comments Kym Marsh has been informed that her newborn baby will stay in hospital for a few weeks. The ‘Coronation Street’ star gave birth to Polly, her daughter with partner Jamie Lomas, prematurely last week and while the little girl is healthy, she is not yet allowed home to join her half-siblings, Emily, 13, and David, 15, the actress’ children from a previous relationship, and the actor’s five-year-old son Billy. Kym wrote in her column for new! magazine: “We had so many emotions when she was born – I felt relieved, joyous, euphoric and very content to finally have her. I was very happy with her weight, 4lbz 1oz. TMZ reports that a 911 call was made from the CBS lot, where the ABC reality show is taped, around 11:43 am when Brandon started having difficulty breathing. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Thus far, Brandon Smith has been a strong presence on the ice, moving around with confidence and skill.
