Each episode of Comedy Central’s series South Park is written, recorded, and animated in just six days, and that insane process is explored and revealed in a new documentary, aptly titled Six Days to Air: The Making of South Park . The documentary, which follows the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, debuts at 10 p.m. ET tonight on Comedy Central. As you can see in the trailer below, the episode featured is last spring’s “HumancentiPad,” which satirizes Apple’s products and draconian terms of service agreements by having characters shit into each others’ mouths—classic South Park, basically, cutting satire and hilariously over-the-top humor. The film’s director, Arthur Bradford, who also created How’s Your News , said that Matt and Trey “wanted it to look like a real documentary, not a reality show; not a celebrating all their accomplishments kind of thing, try to make it a true documentary. Survivor South Pacific delivered a good episode last night, though one more notable for its baffling behavior by contestants than for strategy or game play. The exit of Papa Bear was no surprise, to him or to us. At our first duel of the season, Semhar and Christine faced off, and Christine won, allowing her to seek the revenge she wants. As she explained, “I think Coach just had it out for me from the beginning, and he was going to do whatever it took to get me out, and he succeeded.” Gee, where have we heard something like that before? Wasn’t there someone who, right at the beginning , seconds into the game, said she had it out for Coach and would do whatever she could to get him out? Who was that? The duel once again included spectators from each tribe, which is something that’s kind of annoying; let the whole tribe go or don’t bother. CBS has finally confirmed that Ben “Coach” Wade and Ozzy “Oscar” Lusth are the returning players for Survivor South Pacific, and since we’ve known this since June , the only real surprise is that Ozzy’s hair is ridiculously long . CBS’ official press release offers no information about why these two men were chosen, or why two men were again chosen to return. But in his bio on CBS.com, Ozzy says, “Honestly, I’m actually pretty excited that Coach is here. He can be a polarizing character but I think that he respects the way that I play the game, and I respect the way he plays.” And Coach said of Ozzy, “He is a great warrior in challenges, he’s great at survival, he’s going to be a tough competitor on the other tribe.” And of course, they’ll probably not actually face off against one another in the game. The cast of Survivor South Pacific has not yet been officially announced by CBS, but their official cast photos and names have leaked, so we now know the identities of the 15 people who will play with returning cast members Coach and Ozzy and another Hantz . Photos of the cast that are look like CBS-produced official photographs were published on Survivor Sucks late yesterday, along with the cast members’ names. True Dork Times has a summary of the cast including links to other evidence that they’re on this season. They range in age from 20 to 51, and include a BYU English professor, a funeral director, a Harvard law student, and a Lingerie Football League player who appeared in Playboy . CBS’ Survivor web site has a page for the season 23 cast but it shows nothing, which is probably because the cast will be announced soon, not because of their ongoing efforts to make the show’s web site suck even more. Among the 16 new cast members who will be on Survivor South Pacific with returning players Ben “Coach” Wade and Ozzy Lusth is someone with a very familiar last name: Brandon Hantz, three-time loser Russell Hantz’s nephew. Brandon, who’s 20 and married and works at his uncle’s company (Hantz Tankering Service), was identified as a cast member early this morning on Survivor Skills by DanieuBleau , who correctly identified this season’s location well before there was any concrete evidence. (There was a teaser posted a week ago.) The accurate information about the taping location followed by cast member information suggests a source such as a crew member, so while I hope this is a Kimbo Slice-like rumor , it may not be. Others report that Brandon had a casting video posted on his YouTube profile , but that, along with his Facebook profile, has apparently been deleted. Ben “Coach” Wade and Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth are the two cast members returning for Survivor South Pacific. They’ll compete in Samoa with 16 new people, as Jeff Probst revealed during last season’s finale . The evidence that Coach/Ben is on season 23 is pretty clear. As someone alerted me to, his voice mail message isn’t subtle: “I’m going to be traveling the next couple weeks,” he says, encouraging people to e.mail instead of texting or leaving a message. Ben conducts the Susanville Symphony, which he helped to found, and its final concert is next weekend, which up until recently he was conducting. But now, its web site says there will be “a very special guest conductor” instead. Ben’ movie 180, which features him making out with Danielle DiLorenzo , has its premiere a week later, June 17. The producer of the film, William Price, told me in an e.mail that Ben was supposed to be at the premiere: “That is plan.
