Glass House has been cancelled: time to give up hope

ABC has cancelled The Glass House , the network has confirmed to me, so if you’ve been holding out hope that it’ll return this summer, it’s time to give up and let it go. Yes, my desperate plea to renew the low-rated summer competition series. The loss of the show is sad, but we’ll get through it together. The show improved on Big Brother ’s format and spawned fascinating lawsuits between CBS and the show’s producers, but ultimately had low ratings, despite being a really smart and interesting series that was worthy of renewal. So, let us mourn its death with a reprise of the cast singing “Call Me, Maybe,” one of last year’s best reality TV cold opens: View the original article here

Speaking to comedienne Ellen DeGeneres on her American chat show, the House actor revealed that he was quite excited to finally have a runny nose. “It’s the first cold of my whole life,” he explained. “I’m excited about it because for so many years I believed that I didn’t get colds because, basically, nothing could live in this body. I was so addled with booze and cigarettes… but it appears I have curb appeal after all.” Laurie added: “I don’t know how I got it. The whole thing is so novel that I feel like I’ve sort of rejoined the human race… I’m hoping to string it out.” Follow us on Twitter ! From reality TV to the White House | The Hays Free Press

Young-at-Large by JOHN YOUNG History calls on Rob Dyrdek. A nation awaits word. Run for president, Rob. Run as a Republican. You have what it takes. Mainly, and most importantly, you have a reality television show. Make that two. That makes you doubly qualified. One could not help but think of Dyrdek, he of MTV’s “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory,” the other day when Donald Trump appeared before the Conservative Political Action Conference and all but announced he’s running. He told the crowd that he’s anti-abortion and pro-gun, and with his own reality TV show, he’s as close to qualified as one can get to the GOP nomination, judging by the prospective field. Trump joins reality TV figure Sarah Palin as both make moves toward throwing their hair in the ring. When Trump does, he will have broken the by-now-accepted rule for becoming a Republican presidential contender: Quit your job. Write a book. Get on the Fox News payroll. Mush for face time like it’s the Iditarod. Mitt Romney, you pike...

House Health Care Repeal More Reality TV than Theater

By Star Parker Democrats who are calling the House’s decisively passed repeal of Obamacare — the so-called ” Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care” act — theater are hallucinating. Perhaps it was theatrical to include in the name of the repeal act “job killing”, though that is what it is. But I prefer melodrama to dishonesty. Calling Obamacare — government mandates, subsidies, price controls, taxes, and rationed care — “patient protection” and “affordable” is the height of dishonesty. The House repeal vote was important because the House is the legislative body closest to the people, and the people voted unequivocally last November to repudiate socialized medicine. It is the beginning of responsible government to start representing what the American people want and repeal is what Americans voted for. Although repudiation of Obamacare was the most tangible message of the 2010 elections, there were other important messages. Most Americans are sick of the socialist direction in w...
