Esther Rantzen has said that she would rather have ten minutes more with her late husband, Desmond, than live the next ten years. In an interview with Piers Morgan to be screened on ITV tonight Esther also hinted that she has started dating again. The TV presenter also said that she is angry that critics have cast aspersions suggesting she and her BBC colleagues must have known more than they were letting on about Jimmy Savile abusing children. She added that she had ‘no evidence’ that Savile was abusing children and that she would have taken action, had she known. Talking about her relationship with Desmond Wilcox, who she met when he was still married to someone else, Esther said that she regrets their affair but not their marriage. She told Piers the pair adored each other, and Desi’s last words to her were that he adored her.

Mel B, aka Scary Spice, will join the judging panel of NBC’s America’s Got Talent this summer, sitting alongside Howie Mandel and Howard Stern, who announced he’d return late last year. Mel B previously judged The X Factor in Australia, competed on the US’ Dancing with the Stars , and hosted Australia’s version of the dance competition. And she’s a “versatile entertainer,” as a glowing press release points out. Boardwalk Empire star, Charlie Cox, has reportedly signed up to star in a pilot for a  new CBS drama, The Ordained. Cox is a British actor who is best known for his starring role as Tristan Thorn in Stardust and more recently for his supporting role in the second and third seasons of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire opposite Steve Buscemi. The Ordained is said to follow Tom, a priest born of high society who decides to leave the church to embark on a new career as a solicitor, who investigate an assassination plot against his politician sister, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The explosion left Giles with life changing injuries, he is now a triple amputee. A year and half after sustaining injuries that left him on the cusp of death for months, Giles is now documenting how the invasion of Afghanistan has impacted upon civilians, focusing on people who have sustained injuries similar to his own. The film shows Giles courageous journey as he returns to Afghanistan to undertake his first photographic job since the explosion that almost took his life, in the country where he very nearly lost it. While last season of Survivor was an excellent example of how seasons featuring returnees can work well, last night’s episode of Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites II: The Return of Malcolm was an excellent example of the potential problems. Despite this being an episode with just one challenge, there was very little character development from people we don’t know, and way too much attention on the very, very, very, very familiar (Phillip, sigh. Brandon, sigh). Dawn’s breakdown after being berated by Brandon was interesting in that it set up a conflict, but like Brandon’s insane threats to become his uncle, it’s one that so far only manifests in teasers for next week’s episode. I’m honestly more familiar with—and excited to see, and surprised by—this heavily-featured camp resident than any of the returnees or alleged fans. Doctor Who top man, Steven Moffat has revealed that, despite several offers, his predecessor Russell T Davies has declined coming back to the show. Russell T Davies is the genius behind the revival and running of the hugely popular science fiction series Doctor Who after its sixteen year break, with Christopher Eccleston , and later David Tennant , in the title role of the Doctor. Davies’s influence as executive producer of the show oversaw a surge in popularity that led to the production of two spin-off series, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. However, despite repeated offers to re-join the crew, it would seem that Davies is simply not interested.
