The reputation that Dansko shoes has developed over the last 10 years has developed because of their comfort, durability and stylishness. Dansko has been around for 20 years creating a variety of innovative shoes for men, women and children although probably best known for their clogs they also make sandals, boots and dress shoes. We will take a look at a few of the features that make these shoes so popular. Dansko was founded by a couple, Peter Kjellerup and Mandy Cabot who, while on a trip to Denmark to buy horses, found a small shop that made clogs. Originally these clogs were simply shoes made for those working on farms or around animals. They began bringing these shoes back to the U.S., and soon everyone they knew was asking for them. They embarked on this endeavor in 1990 naming the company after the Dutch word for Danish Shoe or Dansko.
