The problem is said to lie in the sofas on the ITV breakfast show – fronted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley – and bosses have called in pest control experts to deal with the infestation. It is thought that a number of recent animal interest stories, which saw pets visit the studios, may have caused the problem. “The producers love dog stories and think it’s a great way to connect with their family audience,” a source told The Daily Star. “After their first pet story went down so well, they have begun to feature them more regularly in a bid to boost ratings. “There is now a dog or other pet on the show at least once a week, which has caused the outbreak of fleas.
