MTV has released the trailer for The Real World’s 26th season, which is set in San Diego again . It’s not two minutes you should watch if you think the show is a shadow of its former self; if you are MTV’s blogger, though, you will surprisingly find this to be “just as ridiculous as we’d hoped” instead of depressing. In the trailer, there’s no sign of angry neighbors or the mother who calls her kid “Pumpkin.” More disappointingly, while Vevmo’s exhaustive research into the cast suggested a more complex group this time, people with interesting backgrounds and life experience that might translate to something more. Instead, it’s the same old: drinking, hooking up, overly muscled guys yelling at each other. The tiny bit of connection I still have to the series hopes that the trailer is just trying to draw those people who are attracted to this endless nonsense, and the series will surprise with something equally interesting to last season’s storyline . The Real World’s 26th season will be filmed in San Diego, a city that has previously hosted the MTV reality show. That would follow a trend of the show returning to cities its used before—New Orleans, Las Vegas, and now San Diego—which the show’s creator said is because the series ran out of cities with “fantasy appeal.” If the report holds up, the cast members’ house will be on the beach: 5212 Chelsea Street in San Diego. A moving company’s blog post said the company moved an unamed celebrity from his house because it will be used by the series.
