Glee’s Jane Lynch says gay actors struggle to get lead roles

Home > Glee > Glee’s Jane Lynch says gay actors struggle to get lead roles January 14th, 2011 by Lisa McGarry. No comments Jane Lynch has claimed that Hollywood casting bosses often discriminate against gay actors, who audition for roles in their movies. Speaking to AfterElton.com, lesbian Glee star said that film bosses often worry that viewers won’t accept anything but straight stars in their lead roles. “I don’t know when or if that will ever happen. Glee season 2: Jane Lynch explains Sue Sylvester’s arrogance

January 4th, 2011 by Lisa McGarry. No comments Jane Lynch has explained that she thinks Glee character Sue Sylvester’s past, contributes to her tough persona. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Lynch said that at the beginning of season one she had a very simple view of the cheerleading coach. “Right away I saw this arrogance, this self-belief,” she said. However, when Sue’s Down Syndrome sister was introduced to the show, Jane admitted that she understood her better. She continued: “I think she was tortured in high school. And she’s out to revenge that. Now they’ve given me the sister with Down’s syndrome and I’m like, ‘Perfect!’ That totally fits into the fact that I was sticking up for my sister. I took care of her. I raised her. So I figured [Sue] went back to high school to get back at everybody.” Glee season two comes to E4 on January 10. Follow us on Twitter !
