Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, Steve Jones Out Of The X Factor!

« It’s A Brad, Brad World Recap: Brad Goreski’s Broken Promises | Home January 31, 2012 08:00 AM by Ashley Lee It’s not only the contestants who apparently get eliminated on The X Factor . Judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul , along with host Steve Jones , will not be returning for the show’s second season . Read on for details about the triple elimination…all announced in a single day! Steve Jones was the first to confirm his departure. He tweeted yesterday,”I wont be hosting next season’s X Factor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.” Then Nicole Scherzinger’s leave was announced. ”She wants to focus on her music career,” a source told E! News . “She’s spoken to Simon [ Cowell ] and he’s given her his blessing.” The former Pussycat Doll is currently rehearsing for her upcoming European tour, which kicks off next month. “X Factor took a lot more of her time than she ever expected,” the source continued. “S...

Paula Abdul also fired from X Factor

X Factor » by Andy Dehnart / January 31, 2012, 7:55 AM And the firings continue: Paula Abdul is also out of The X Factor , as her friend Simon Cowell let her go along with Nicole Scherzinger (who left to work on her music , right) and fired host Steve Jones . That leaves just Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid to have fake fights with each other. Deadline reported Paula’s exit, saying “none of the three left on their own accord and that it was cleaning house day at the so-so rated reality series.” While trade publications have been able to confirm with Fox that Jones and Scherzinger are out, there’s no official word yet that Paula is out. Paula’s exit is the biggest surprise among the three, both because she and Simon are close (she first started hinting she’d rejoin him on TV almost two years ago), and because she wasn’t exactly bad. She was saddled with mentoring the awful groups category and its artificially constructed groups but was still somewhat improved from her American Idol se...

Coronation Street: Jack P Shepherd found snogging Paula Lane ‘difficult’

Home > Soaps > Coronation Street: Jack P Shepherd found snogging Paula Lane ‘difficult’ March 5th, 2011 by Lisa McGarry. No comments It’s what every woman doesn’t want to hear….a boy saying it was difficult to snog them! Paula Lane couldn’t have been chuffed when she found out what Jack P Shepherd said about their kissing scenes on Coronation Street. The actor, who plays David Platt in the soap, admitted that getting up close and personal with the actress – who plays troublesome Kylie – wasn’t easy. He told Holy Soap: “We’re filming lots of kissing scenes with me and Kylie, lots of them, and it was difficult – we had a three-and-a-half minute scene the other day, which was quite long and quite wordy and we had to be in the foreground snogging all the way through it. “It was one shot, so we were in the foreground and Si Gregson (Steve McDonald) and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) were in the background. They had all the dialogue watching us snog and they kept getting their lines wro...

Paula Abdul officially on board X Factor as its auditions begin; hosts announced

X Factor » by Andy Dehnart / May 8, 2011, 5:54 PM Live auditions in front of audiences begin today for Fox’s fall series The X Factor , and the network officially confirmed the last bit of unconfirmed but already known news: that Paula Abdul would join the show as its fourth judge. This has been dragged out for 15 months, since Paula first hinted she’d be on the show in Feb. 2010. The real question with Paula is whether she will be crazy Paula Abdul or subdued Paula Abdul. On Twitter, Paula thanked her fans for their patience and gave them a hug , and tweeted a photo of herself and Cheryl Cole . Yesterday, the network announced the show’s hosts: Nicole Scherzinger, who has appeared on many reality TV series since her debut on Popstars in 2001, and Steve Jones, a model turned British TV host. Piers Morgan reported last fall that Nicole would be a judge , but although she did that job as a guest judge on the UK edition, she was pretty awful on The Sing Off , the NBC series she pres...

Live To Dance: Paula Abdul’s Reality Show Likely Cancelled

« Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? Melissa Talks About The “Kiss My Ash” Episode | Home | Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? Joan Talks About Moving To LA » February 12, 2011 01:30:48 by Allyson Wells It appears that Live To Dance won’t live to dance another day. Sources are reporting that Paula Abdul’s reality show has been cancelled. This cancellation will free her up to reunite with Simon Cowell on his upcoming reality show , X-Factor , as a judge. Michael Ausiello reports in his TVLine.com blog that multiple sources have confirmed Paula’s Live To Dance has been cancelled, although there is no official word from CBS just yet. While Live to Dance started off strong in its premiere, the ratings have been low and saw only 4.8 million viewers tune into the finale . The numbers are just not strong enough for a major network. Rumors have been floating around that Paula is joining Simon on X-Factor. Simon Cowell recently said he is a huge fan of Paula’s, to which she r...

Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole in as X Factor judges, Simon Cowell says (kind of)

X Factor » by Andy Dehnart / April 25, 2011, 9:04 AM Simon Cowell has confirmed the judges for The X Factor , kind of. Besides himself and previously announced judge L.A. Reid , they are Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole. If this holds up, it basically means that months of leaks and reports in trade and gossip press have been pointless, because Paula was rumored to judge 18 months ago , and Cheryl Cole was first mentioned last fall (along with Nicole Scherzinger) before the real onslaught of rumors that even included Lindsay Lohan . The “kind of” qualification comes because Deadline’s Nikki Finke talked to Simon and reports that Simon “made it clear to me he has finally decided on his judging panel.” But in her either sloppy or clever way, she does not quote him directly, and notes “that negotiations for Abdul’s deal hasn’t even started and that Cole’s deal isn’t quite done yet.” Still, she insists Cowell “has made up his mind to bring back Paula Abdul” and use UK judge Cheryl Cole. A...

Live To Dance Star Paula Abdul Reveals Her Idol

« The Real Housewives of New York City: Countess LuAnn Strips For Law & Order Acting Debut | Home | Your OWN Show: Episode Four “Get The Salmon In The Pan” » January 29, 2011 01:30:27 by Allyson Wells Live To Dance judge and producer Paula Abdul has inspired many others with her dancing ability and success. On her show, many of the dance hopefuls cite Abdul as their inspiration. The dancer and former American Idol judge recently revealed her own dancing hero. It wasn’t Travis Payne’s famous co-worker Michael Jackson that inspired Paula. Legendary dancer of Hollywood’s Golden Era, Gene Kelly, was the apple of Paula’s eye. Paula explained to Popeater that she watched MGM musicals as a young child and they shaped who she is today. “I kept finding myself getting closer and closer to the TV. I started kissing the television and looking back at my dad saying, ‘That’s my dad.’ My dad would say, ‘No I’m your father-that can be your TV dad.’ From that moment on I thought Gene Kelly...

Live To Dance: Travis Payne Protective Of Paula Abdul | Reality TV ...

« The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Adrienne Maloof and Husband Call 911 For Actor Charlie Sheen | Home | Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Kim Kardashian Donates 10 Percent Of Earnings To Charity » January 28, 2011 12:30:36 by Allyson Wells While Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell may have had a love-hate relationship that she likened to fungus, Travis Payne feels protective of his Live To Dance co-star and mentor. Travis recently spoke about his feelings for Paula and his new show. Travis spoke with The Hollywood Exclusive at Becksmithhollywood.com. He spoke very highly of Paula, saying, “I know she’s strong and she’s smart. She’s very aware — very aware — of all that goes on, and she’s an excellent sort of mentor and a wonderful businesswoman. And she’s thrilled to be executive producing this show and getting to use all her talents. You know, we spend a lot of our time lending our names and talents to someone else’s vision. Now, for her, this is her vision. That’s a major acc...

Coronation Street: Paula Lane feels sorry for Kylie Turner

Home > Coronation Street > Coronation Street: Paula Lane feels sorry for Kylie Turner January 10th, 2011 by Lisa McGarry. No comments Paula Lane has admitted that she feels really sorry for her ‘Coronation Street’ character. The actress is best known as Becky McDonald’s sister Kylie Turner in the ITV1 soap and while viewers are appalled at her behaviour – which has seen her sell her young son Max to Becky after getting pregnant at 16 – Paula believes her troubled childhood is partly to blame for her actions. She said: “Kylie’s a mixed-up girl, but she’s had to fight for survival. I feel for her – it’s quite a sad story. When I analyse things that have happened in my past I can draw on it to play her.” Kylie – who was raised by an alcoholic mother – initially demanded £20,000 from Becky (Katherine Kelly) and her husband Steve (Simon Gregson) for Max but returned on the night of the tram crash and asked for a further £20,000 in order for them to keep the little boy and while Pau...

Viewers figure out that Paula Abdul's Live to Dance isn't worth watching and leave

The first episode of Live to Dance , Paula Abdul’s CBS dance competition, had a surprisingly high number of viewers considering how awful it was, but a large number of people got smart and didn’t tune in for its second episode. In its regular Wednesday timeslot, which is normally occupied by Survivor, the show faced off against ABC’s The Middle and NBC’s Minute to Win It, and lost. Live to Dance came in third place among viewers 18 to 49 , about a 25 percent drop from its debut on Tuesday. Among all viewers, it came in second place in its first half-hour and first in its second half-hour, but fewer people watched: 7.788 compared to 10.23 million on Tuesday. So, 2.4 million people got smart; how many of those 7.8 million people will abandon the show next week? View the original article here

Paula Abdul returns to reality TV tonight (sigh)

After being blissfully absent from competitive reality TV for more than a year now, Paula Abdul returns to host, judge, produce, and clean the windows on Live to Dance , which debuts tonight at 8 p.m. with a two-hour audition episode. It continues tomorrow at 8, in Survivor’s timeslot (which it will vacate by mid-February). The stylish preview is engaging enough, but the previews showing Paula all but weeping over contestants and telling them how special they are, never mind clapping at them like she’s wearing oven mitts, makes me grateful that it only has a limited run . Live To Dance: Paula Abdul’s New Dance Reality Show Premieres On Tuesday

« American Idol: Ray Chew New Music Director | Home | Jersey Shore: Snooki’s Book In Stores Tomorrow » January 3, 2011 01:30:49 by Allyson Wells Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul returns to reality television this week. Her new reality show, Live To Dance , premieres with a special two-hour kickoff on Tuesday night at 8 on CBS . The show will then move to its regular time slot on Wednesdays at 8. Everyone’s favorite loopy judge has long been slammed for having a drinking problem. She recently spoke out on CBS and claimed she has never been drunk in her life and does have a brain. Abdul has admitted to having an addiction to painkillers in the past. Does this mean that she will still be spouting nonsensical speeches from the judges table? We can only hope so. Not only is Abdul starring as a judge, she is also a producer. The dance competition will range from dance soloists to pairs and group ensembles. The show will feature 18 acts that will compete for the grand priz...
