SYTYCD will have two winners: one with a penis and one with a vagina

There’s another major change coming to So You Think You Can Dance this summer, besides its new once-a-week schedule and longer season : there will be two winners, one male and one female. “Girls dance totally differently than guys,” Nigel told TVLine , which says that Nigel was “pointing out the apples-vs.-oranges vibe that’s pervaded most SYTYCD finales. By naming a male winner and a female winner in Season 9, Lythgoe hopes to avoid that problem.” What problem? The only problem is that Nigel Lythgoe does not understand is that sex does not dictate everything about one’s behavior or physicality. As the show has demonstrated season after season, women “dance totally differently” than other women, just as there’s a lot of diversity in the way men dance. It’s not about their genitalia, it’s about who they are as performers, their training, and their genre and style. This attitude shouldn’t be a surprise, because Nigel has made his sex and gender issues very clear over the years; he hate

Jennifer Lopez Sued By Former Driver

« Maksim Chmerkovskiy Certain That He Cannot Please Dancing With The Stars Judges | Home | The Biggest Loser’s Joe Messina Tied The Knot » May 01, 2012 12:00 PM by Shayla Perry It looks like Jenny’s gonna need a new ride around the block! American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez , Nuyorican Productions , and her manager, Benny Medina are all being sued by the FOX reality star’s former driver, Hakom Manoukian , who, among other claims, alleges that he was “chastised and humiliated” while working for Lopez, and later, wrongfully terminated. What else is in the lawsuit? According to court documents, Hakom Manoukian was a part-time employee of Jennifer Lopez and her husband at the time, Marc Anthony , beginning in 2005. In April of 2011, Manoukian states that he was given a full-time position and promised a yearly salary of $72,000 PLUS “production pay” for times when J. Lo was filming or busy with other types of professional engagements, which should’ve worked out to roughly $200,000. B

All-star Dancing with the Stars not a sure thing yet

Dancing with the Stars may air an all-star season this fall, but it’s not a sure thing yet: the show’s executive producer said it’s under consideration. Conrad Green told the New York Post that an “all star show is something we have talked about for some time and we are considering it. But we haven’t made any decisions about it yet.” Considering that they are actively asking celebrity contestants to return , that sounds like they have made a decision, but are being cautious in case they can’t assemble a full cast. The good news: Green realizes that bringing past cast members back needs to be special, which is great because the producers of Survivor and The Bachelor don’t seem to know that. Acknowledging that his series is already on a lot, he said, “These kind of shows rely, absolutely, on being special. They have to be part of the nation’s conversation if they are going to be shows that really work.” View the original article here

All-star season for Dancing with the Stars this fall

The 15th season of Dancing with the Stars will be an all-star season, bringing back past celebrity dancers. Mario Lopez, who came in second during the third season, co-hosted Live! with Kelly yesterday, and at the beginning of the show, revealed the news (accidentally? intentionally?) when they were discussing Gladys Knight’s elimination. “You know what, Kelly? They’re having a Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars this next season, and they called me to do it,” he said. Kelly expressed enthusiasm, and Mario said, “I’d love to do it.” Kelly insisted, “You have to do it!” But Mario seemed reluctant: “I just don’t know how I’d be able to pull it off.” An all-star season seems like a natural idea for the ABC series, and after 14 seasons, it’s earned it. How producers cast it will be crucial, though. Will they bring back all the best dancers? The most television friendly/controversial ones? Or keep a similar mix as usual? Or do something else, like identifying those people who were eliminate
