Oxygen has officially and unspurprisingly renewed The Glee Project for a second season, which will have two additional contestants. Robert Ulrich, Zach Woodlee, Nikki Anders, and (the ever-insufferable but surprisingly tolerable here) Ryan Murphy will all return. The network said in a press release that casting for season two “recently wrapped up” and resulted in “14 contenders — two more than season one.” The competition will air this summer and include “additional themes and all new music.” View the original article here

Survivor South Pacific delivered a good episode last night, though one more notable for its baffling behavior by contestants than for strategy or game play. The exit of Papa Bear was no surprise, to him or to us. At our first duel of the season, Semhar and Christine faced off, and Christine won, allowing her to seek the revenge she wants. As she explained, “I think Coach just had it out for me from the beginning, and he was going to do whatever it took to get me out, and he succeeded.” Gee, where have we heard something like that before? Wasn’t there someone who, right at the beginning , seconds into the game, said she had it out for Coach and would do whatever she could to get him out? Who was that? The duel once again included spectators from each tribe, which is something that’s kind of annoying; let the whole tribe go or don’t bother. The Real World San Diego’s cast members had a more eco-friendly experience during the season that filmed this summer, having sex on organic cotton sheets and cleaning up their vomit with natural cleaning products. That’s my interpretation of a press release sent out by Coyuchi , which says it was “the first company to bring organic cotton bedding to the United States,” and which supplied the house with “organic and all natural textiles,” because to create “a more environmentally conscious space,” MTV “partnered with a number of eco-conscious companies to outfit the home for the 26th season.” The press release notes that the house will feature other eco-friendly fixtures and products, such as the awesome line of Method cleaning supplies . CBS has finally confirmed that Ben “Coach” Wade and Ozzy “Oscar” Lusth are the returning players for Survivor South Pacific, and since we’ve known this since June , the only real surprise is that Ozzy’s hair is ridiculously long . CBS’ official press release offers no information about why these two men were chosen, or why two men were again chosen to return. But in his bio on CBS.com, Ozzy says, “Honestly, I’m actually pretty excited that Coach is here. He can be a polarizing character but I think that he respects the way that I play the game, and I respect the way he plays.” And Coach said of Ozzy, “He is a great warrior in challenges, he’s great at survival, he’s going to be a tough competitor on the other tribe.” And of course, they’ll probably not actually face off against one another in the game. American Idol has hired Ray Chew as its new band director, but is planning to hide him and the musicians, replacing them on the stage with audience members, because as we all know, American Idol’s biggest problem was that it had too few coached audience members getting screen time. The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Ray Chew would join the show; he’s previously produced and conducted live music for live TV shows such as the Grammys, the 2008 Democractic National Convention, and The Singing Bee . Executive producer Ken Warwick told Entertainment Weekly that the band is being moved: “At the moment, the [upper] tier that was where the band was is now going to be audience. The plan is that the band will come out when required.
