No comments A memorial service featured on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, has prompted Channel 4 bosses to consider airing a one off special show titled My Big Fat Gypsy Funeral! The moving ceremony will air on an upcoming episode of the Channel 4 show, when dad Paddy holds a memorial service for his son Patrick, who was killed in a car crash aged 18. The whole family will gather around his graveside, playing his favourite music and sharing their favourite stories about their brother, friend, cousin and brother. A source told The Sun: “It is very moving. Paddy’s mum talks about how she will never get over his death.” The series has been a surprise hit for Channel 4, with it’s opening episode pulling in 6.5million viewers last Tuesday. Coronation Street: Ken Barlow to write a poem for tram crash memorial service

December 24th, 2010 by Lisa McGarry. No comments Coronation Street’s Ken Barlow will read a specially-written poem at a memorial service for those who died in the recent tram crash. Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy has composed some stirring words for the soap, and they will be read out by the street legend (Bill Roache) at a candle-lit service to pay tribute to those who lost their lives. Carol Ann – who is good friends with ‘Coronation Street’ creator Tony Warren – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If there was anyone deciding what poem was to be read at a community event it would be Ken. “I went along to the filming with my daughter and it was magical. “There we were stood in the fake snow and it felt like a real street, like a Charles Dickens novel come to life. It was magical, an electrifying experience. “I was so proud to be asked and so proud to know my poem would be on the show.
