America’s Got Talent has signed Howard Stern as the show’s new judge, following Piers Morgan’s exit last month. As a result, the series will move its live shows to New York. Howard announced it on his Sirius XM show a few minutes ago, and its Twitter account posted , “It’s offical - Howard just signed on the dotted line - he is now the newest judge on America’s Got Talent!” NBC’s announcement said that “production of the live shows … will be moving to New York, where Stern will continue to helm his SiriusXM radio program.” NBC’s reality executive Paul Telegdy said Stern’s “larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic” and added that “Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.” Last month, Howard was being coy by confirming discussions with the network by denying he was having discussions with NBC. She will sit in one of the show’s signature swivel chairs , which may be risky considering her recent mishaps . The announcement comes one day after she was arrested for public intoxication .
