Howard Stern officially signs as America's Got Talent judge

America’s Got Talent has signed Howard Stern as the show’s new judge, following Piers Morgan’s exit last month. As a result, the series will move its live shows to New York. Howard announced it on his Sirius XM show a few minutes ago, and its Twitter account posted , “It’s offical - Howard just signed on the dotted line - he is now the newest judge on America’s Got Talent!” NBC’s announcement said that “production of the live shows … will be moving to New York, where Stern will continue to helm his SiriusXM radio program.” NBC’s reality executive Paul Telegdy said Stern’s “larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic” and added that “Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.” Last month, Howard was being coy by confirming discussions with the network by denying he was having discussions with NBC. No comments June Brown has reportedly inked a new ‘EastEnders’ contract, which has made her the show’s second-highest earner. The 84-year-old actress – who plays chain-smoking Dot Cotton – will now earn £300,000-a-year as bosses made a desperate bid to keep her much loved character on the BBC soap. Her new deal means only Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) is paid more than her and producers are thrilled she decided to stay on. An insider told the News of the World newspaper: “June is soap royalty. She will sit in one of the show’s signature swivel chairs , which may be risky considering her recent mishaps . The announcement comes one day after she was arrested for public intoxication . The three singers are defined as “musician coaches” instead of judges because the show, while it is an imported format, is set up to be a preemptive strike at Fox and Simon Cowell’s X Factor , which has its judges mentor a group of singers. Fox’s announcement pointed out that he has three Grammys and 33 number-one hits and “has launched some of the biggest acts in music, including Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Pink, Usher, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna.” Simon Cowell said “L.A. was my number one choice to sit alongside me on the show. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest ever music executives and of course a fantastic writer and producer.” And in the press release, Reid said, “I am proud to stand next to my dear friend Simon Cowell, one of the world’s most gifted and charismatic talent magnets.
