No comments Times are about to get a whole lot harder for Corrie’s Carla Connor (Alison King) when Frank Foster’s mum Anne storms into Underworld, demanding her son’s right to oversee his business. Anne, who’s played by Gwen Taylor, will infuriate Carla when, at Frank’s (Andrew Lancel) request, she sends in a heavy mob of men to take away all the factory’s sewing machines. At her wits end, Carla feels she has no choice but to have it out with Frank… Alison King told ITV, “This is the last straw. No comments Corrie star Andrew Lancel has revealed that he hopes his character, Frank Foster, doesn’t become a clichéd soap villain. Speaking to What’s On TV magazine, Andrew added that he doesn’t want Frank to become another Richard Hillman or Tony Gordon type of character. He said, “I’ve never sought a label, I’ve never wanted a label… “I have a character called Frank Foster and I think he’s a bit of a one off. I don’t think he fits into any mould. “He’s not a nice man. People keep calling him a baddie and that’s an understatement if you ask me, but I think he’s a bit different than what’s been before.” Andrew – who also revealed he’s been a Corrie fans since childhood – added that he is an expert on past Corrie villains. No comments Michelle Connor will returns to Coronation Street this November and one of her first actions will be to take on evil factory boss Frank Foster it has been reported. The former barmaid – played by new mum Kym Marsh – will return from her cruise with fiancee Ciaran McCarthy (Keith Duffy) to find that her sister in law Carla Connor has been attacked and raped by Frank. She takes her old job back in the factory which is co-owned by the pair and stands up to Foster, in a bid to save Carla’s business from financial ruin. It has previously been reported that Frank will try to destroy Carla, as revenge for her reporting his attack on her to police and will begin to take business from the factory and poach her staff for his new venture. No comments The PA reports today that Irish comedian Frank Carson is doing “fine” after undergoing surgery for stomach cancer. 84 year old Frank has had to cancel scheduled appearances all over the country after being diagnosed with the life threatening condition earlier this year. After his surgery, a spokesman for Frank said, “He is fine, he had an operation which was a great success and he will be back working again. “They have removed it and he had a test on Friday and he is waiting for the all clear.” Let’s hope that comes soon. The 71-year-old actor – who is best-known for his role as Father Jack Hackett in TV comedy ‘Father Ted’ – admitted his alter-ego Dermot Macey, the father of successful Home Farm businessman Declan (Jason Merrells), will be chasing one Dales lady in particular when he lands on the ITV1 soap tomorrow night. He explained: “Well, I’ll tell you what he is – he’s a hell of a flirt! He fancies all the women, and he’s getting information on one lady in particular. “So I don’t know where that might go, but he definitely has a twinkle in his eye and he’s watching the ladies all the time!” Frank also joked that the ‘Emmerdale’ cast and crew must be on “drugs”, as they are some of the friendliest people he has ever worked among.
