No comments Doctor Who Confidential – which is a behind-the-scenes show that airs on BBC3 – has been axed due to budget cuts within the corporation. In a statement, a BBC spokeswoman said, “‘Doctor Who Confidential’ has been a great show for BBC Three over the years… “But our priority now is to build on original British commission s, unique to the channel.” The spin-off show, which was first launched in 2005, features interviews with the cast and crew, as well as the show’s writers, special effects team and various on set segments. BBC controller Zai Bennett is said to be pursuing a strategy of investment in original commission s in post-watershed (8pm) time slots, and since taking the position at the BBC, she has wielded the axe to ‘Ideal’, ‘Hotter Than My Daughter’, ‘Coming of Age’ and ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’.
