American Idol: Ellen DeGeneres Glad She Is No Longer A Judge

« The X Factor: Auditions Begin | Home February 7, 2011 02:00:12 by Lisa Princ With all the buzz about Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez going around these days, it’s easy to forget how quickly the judges of American Idol on FOX can come and go, as we saw last season when Ellen DeGeneres joined the judging panel and left after only one season. In a recent interview Ellen shares why she is glad she is no longer a judge on the hit series. Keep reading for more details! As she sits back and now watches the new judges, American Idol season nine judge Ellen DeGeneres recently admitted that she is glad that she is no longer on the judging panel of the hit show. The chat show host and comedienne revealed that she could not stand dishing out negative feedback to all the audition hopefuls. Ellen DeGeneres reportedly told The Sun “It’s so hard to tell people they aren’t good.” and “Every time I tried to think of some funny way to say it. I don’t have any of that pressure any more.” Despite...

Ellen DeGeneres' anti-2-hour reality show PSA ignores American Idol, the biggest offender

On her talk show today, Ellen DeGeneres kicked off a fake campaign against “something that’s plaguing our great nation: reality shows that are two hours long.” Her faux PSA is a funny bit, and too much filler certainly is a problem for some shows (The Biggest Loser, I’m looking at your bloated self). But Ellen conveniently or accidentally forgot to mention American Idol, which she judged last year. If there’s any show guilty of airing overly extended episodes with tons of filler, it’s that Fox series; just tune into any results show, which has about two minutes of actual content and 41 minutes of crap. Survivor’s two-hour finale, which Ellen does mention (and is three hours with the reunion), isn’t that overstuffed, and when the show has gone to two hours, it’s been the equivalent of two episodes in one. An Ellen DeGeneres publicist, not media, to blame for "weird" DWTS same-sex couple flap

Dancing with the Stars may have its first same-sex couple next season, with Portia de Rossi as its star half, and her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, does not think that’s “weird.” This is no surprise, but that’s what the media reported last week after Kelly Osbourne appeared on the show. Reports spread widely that Ellen thinks its “weird” appears to be mostly the fault of Ellen’s publicist, and we can also blame the media for blindly copying and pasting quotes from a press release instead of verifying them. On her show today, Ellen said “different media reports were saying that I said it was going to be weird for a same-sex couple to dance together, and I thought, I’m an idiot. Why would I say that? But this is what they picked up on; this is what they reported.” You can watch that clip below, which includes clips from last week’s show. Thursday, a publicist for Ellen’s TV show sent out a press release that included the widely reproduced quotation. It also has quotations like this one: “I hea...
