No comments Matt Smith , who of course plays the current Time Lord, has been talking to What’s On TV magazine about the show’s forthcoming Christmas special, which is of course entitled, The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe . Set in wartime Britain, the episode sees Claire Skinner in the role of war widow Madge Arwell, who, along with her two young children, have been evacuated to the countryside. And when Madge and the children arrive at their new home, they meet The Caretaker, who is of course none other than the Doctor! The paper states that Matt told a US TV channel that once his current contract with Doctor Who is up, he will be heading to Hollywood. He said, “I’m certainly going to come and give it a shot. No comments Matt Smith , who of course plays the current incarnation of Doctor Who , has revealed that he’d like the show’s 50th anniversary episode to be shot in 3-D. That episode is due to be filmed in November 2013, and despite recently claiming he won’t stay on as the Doctor indefinitely, Matt says he intends to be a part of the episode. He told BANG Showbiz, “I love making ‘Doctor Who’ and I get to be part of that 50th year which they’ll do something mental for. “You know it will be brilliant. I’m interested in all the 3-D stuff… “If it could be filmed for 3-D TV that would be fun, especially with ‘Doctor Who’, but it’s very expensive. Samia Smith – who plays the Weatherfield hairdresser – was speaking on ITV1's Lorraine yesterday and admitted that she loves her job on the ITV soap and has no plans to bow out in the near future. Admitting that she loves the fact that her alter-ego always get some of the more gritty storylines on the show, the mum of one said: “Maria is always in the more gritty drama side of Corrie, rather than the comedy side. “That’s lovely, but it’s also more challenging to do the dramatic stuff.” Samia has just signed a new 12-month contract. The 28-year-old actor took over the role from David Tennant in 2010 and Nicholas – who voices the Daleks, Cybermen and Judoon monsters in the BBC sci-fi series – insists his portrayal is one of his favourites and reminds him of the late Patrick Troughton’s imagining of the character in the 60s. No comments Matt Smith has revealed that he will be seen wearing a fake beard in a new episode of Doctor Who . The actor did not reveal which storyline would see him donning the facial hair but did admit that he couldn’t grow a real one in time. “It was a glued-on beard,” he told PA. “I wouldn’t be able to grow a full-on beard like that in time.” Smith also admitted that the beard was difficult to take off at the end of filming each day. “They had to remove it with a substance smelling like white turps,” he said. The stars – who play the Time Lord and his assistant Amy Pond in the BBC One sci-fi drama – live in the same apartment block in Cardiff while they are filming the series, and often practise their scenes together. Matt explained: “We’ll go to the supermarket every night, get a sandwich, and trot home to learn lines. Sometimes we’ll phone each other and say, ‘How’s it going? Really badly? Me too. Do you want to come over and practise?’” While the pair admit they have great banter on set, Matt loves to make Karen laugh while they’re filming serious scenes. He said: “I’m terribly fond of Karen – we’re good pals. I’ve learnt how to make her laugh during filming. I can say a word in a silly voice, and she’ll go. The ‘Doctor Who’ actor spends the festive season with his family and, much to the unhappiness of his mum, he enjoys making one of his favourite culinary treats with the remains of his roast turkey. He said: “Make turkey soup with the leftovers. Bones, the whole lot, in a big old pot. Turkey soup is amazing. “But it does make the house smell, so my mum complains. She explained: “I think it’s mostly men you know, and a lot of children. It’s 24/7 for him. The actor – who plays the time travelling Doctor in the hit BBC One sci-fi series – explained that while his character has all of time and space at his disposal, he finds human relationships tough to navigate. The star – who plays the Time Lord in the popular BBC One sci-fi series – explained that if they had a limitless budget, his dream storyline would be for his alter-ego to travel back in time to visit the pre-historic creatures.
