Matt Smith has revealed that he will be seen wearing a fake beard in a new episode of Doctor Who.

The actor did not reveal which storyline would see him donning the facial hair but did admit that he couldn’t grow a real one in time.

“It was a glued-on beard,” he told PA.

“I wouldn’t be able to grow a full-on beard like that in time.”

Smith also admitted that the beard was difficult to take off at the end of filming each day.

“They had to remove it with a substance smelling like white turps,” he said.
