This comes as no surprise, because when it comes to issues of sexuality, Nigel Lythgoe has his head completely up his arse. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Nigel said, “To be frank, I didn’t understand why we’re talking about contestants being gay or not gay. I don’t go into my dentist and say, ‘Are you gay?’ I don’t say to contestants on So You Think You Can Dance, ‘Are you gay?’ What does it got to do with me? What does it got to do with anybody? When does privacy stop in this country? If somebody wants to say they’re gay, it’s up to them. Amazing Race 15 team member Maria Ho won $540,020 at the World Series of Poker’s No Limit Hold ‘Em tournament , winning more money than any other woman ever at a US WSOP event . In an interview with Poker Listings , Maria said, “In the last seven months I’ve made three final tables in pretty major events so I came into this WSOP with my confidence at an all-time high.” As to The Amazing Race, Maria said she and her teammate Tiffany “were never asked back for the all-star season. It was kind of a weird situation because the way we were eliminated from the show definitely qualified as unfinished business.” They quit a task and took a 24-hour penalty , and thus were eliminated. She’s angling to be included in a future all-star season, which might be next season, considering how CBS shows are increasingly relying on returning cast members. “There might be future all-star seasons and we’d really look forward to being a part of that,” she said. The website reports the record number of viewers for this episode surpassed a previous record set by the third episode of the show’s third season just a week earlier. 300,000 more viewers tuned in for the fourth episode.
