Read more to find out why it didn’t work out…The Hollywood Reporter says the former season nine mentor was in talks with the network to join the show as a judge. “I had a blast on the show,” Connick tells the magazine. “They asked me if I was interested. We had some preliminary conversations and it just kind of fizzled out.” The Hollywood Reporter says Connick’s judging spot went to Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler instead. Connick is okay with the decision. “Fortunately, I had some other things going on.
