Andrea married builder Steve Toms in 2009 after the couple reportedly had a six-year affair, which prompted the end of her first marriage. No comments EastEnders stars Himesh Patel and Meryl Fernandes have revealed that they hope their characters Tamwar and Afia Masood can live happily ever after. The stars, who made their comments while attending this year’s the Inside Soap Awards to collect the Best Wedding award for Tamwar and Afia’s wedding, added that they hope all the “drama” is now over for the young newlyweds. Meryl told the PA, “I hope they live happily ever after. Home > Entertainment > ITV axe Dermot O’Leary’s The Marriage Ref August 2nd, 2011 by Lisa McGarry. 1 Comment ITV have reportedly cancelled Dermot O’Leary’s primetime Saturday night series ‘The Marriage Ref.’ The show was based on a popular American format however, in Britain it never attracted enough viewers, despite Dermot landing some big name guests who offered marital advice to members of the oublic. Ratings on a recent episode fell to a new low of 1.7 million and though it was moved to a later spot in the schedule, ITV bosses have reportedly decided not to bring the show back for a second run. A source told The Sun newspaper: “‘The Marriage Ref’ is definitely not coming back. Ratings were just not strong enough. The figures have to be higher than this for a prime-time Saturday night show to work.” However, the station is “still committed” to Dermot and looking forward to his return on ‘The X Factor’.
