In a few months, HBO will once again fictionalize the creation of a famous work of nonfiction , although this time it’s the reality series that started it all: An American Family . The Sopranos’ James Gandolfini stars as Craig Gilbert, the producer who followed the Loud family for the 1973 PBS series, while Pat and Bill Loud are played by Diane Lane and Tim Robbins, while Thomas Dekker plays their gay son Lance Loud. Robbins and Lane, along with the film’s directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, talked to TV critics Friday, and it was an occasion for some reality TV bashing on the part of some critics who simultaneously demonstrated their ignorance about the original series, but also yielded some surprising insight. Actress Debbie Rush – who plays loudmouth mother Anna Windass – is hoping the clan get back to their usual argumentative selves in the coming months, as it gives her an opportunity to vent her anger. She told BANG Showbiz: “I really hope you get to see a few more brawls from the Windass clan. I love the fact that Anna has so many different sides to her personality. She can be funny, but she can also be sad – and she’d certainly knock your head off if you crossed her! “She lets me vent my anger! Eric is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Mark ‘McSteamy’ Sloan in American drama Grey’s Anatomy, with Rebecca also having a successful acting career having starred in movies such as Urban Legend and Scream 2. The couple married in 2004, and have eight-month-old daughter Billie Beatrice together. Eric has confirmed they would like more kids at some point, hinting it might happen in the near future. “You look at a baby like that and you say she smiles waking up. It makes you want to have more?
