No comments Katherine Kelly has of course ended her run as Becky McDonald on Coronation Street, and we’ll see some of her final scenes in tonight’s episodes , however, Kat has revealed that she was impressed with Becky’s new fella, Danny, and described him as her alter ego’s “leaving present.” Danny, who’s played by the gorgeous Jeremy Sheffield , has of course fallen head over heels for Becky, and will be seen whisking her off to start a new life in Barbados. Of Becky’s exit plotline, and Danny in particular, Kat told What’s On TV magazine, “I thought, ‘Well done girl, not bad.’ “He’s lovely, I mean, what a gift, hey? He’s like a leaving present . Home > Drama > Corrie star Chris Fountain would dedicate NTA win to his late gran January 23rd, 2012 by Sarah. 1 Comment Chris Fountain, who of course plays Tommy Duckworth in Corrie, has revealed that if he wins the award for Best Newcomer at the forthcoming National Television Awards , he intends to dedicate it to his gran, Joyce, who died in December. Chris, who’s also starred in Hollyoaks, Where the Heart Is and The Royal, told the Sun’s TV Biz, “It’s my first year on Corrie so it would be great to win. “It would also be nice for my gran who died before Christmas. It would be a great tribute. “She was proud I was nominated and was voting for me before she went. No comments Several of the members of Corrie’s cast joined campaigners from Project Underdog last Friday to record the charity’s new single. The Project supports youngsters in inner-city areas by involving them in making music and participating in sports. Last year, the charity released a cover version of Linkin Park’s hit, Iridescent. The Sun reports that this year, the new single will feature the voices of Corrie stars Chris Fountain , Ryan Thomas, Lisa George, Catherine Tyldesley , Georgia May Foote, Ian Puleston-Davies and Peter Gunn, who volunteered their time to the charity. No comments Sally Lindsay, who’s starring in new Sky1 sitcom Mount Pleasant, has revealed that although she hasn’t starred in Coronation Street since 2006, people still relate to her as her Weatherfield character, Shelley Unwin. During her time on the Street, Sally played out a number of big storylines as Shelley, including the dramatic plotline in which her fiancé Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) emotionally and physically abused her until Shelley ditched him at the altar. No comments Gary’s Army Diaries was initially produced in three, 5 minute short films for itv.com/corrie just last month and following their huge success, shall now be re-cut and made in to a 30 minute programme exclusively for ITV2. Corrie Extra: Gary’s Army Diaries will TX Monday 31st January 2200, 0100 and Sunday 6th February 0830, 1415 and tells the story of Gary’s time at war with best mate, and the late, Quinny as they served together in Afghanistan, filling in the gaps on Gary’s current state of mind in scenes which viewers have already seen unfold on screen. December 10th, 2010 by Sarah. No comments Brian Capron, who of course played Richard Hillman on Corrie, has heaped praise on the cast and crew for how well last night’s live episode went. While appearing on This Morning today, Brian said, “I thought it was absolutely superb… “So many incidents, plot twists and superb production values. “The planning that must’ve gone into it was terrific.” And when asked if soaps only stage live episodes as “publicity stunts” Brian replied, “I think that’s what people say… “But my angle on it is that, amazingly enough, when you do a normal recording, the best take is nearly always the first take. “Often you have to go again because of something technical, but when you do the second take, you sometimes just don’t have that freshness and energy… “I thought they were obviously all up for it last night; they had that extra edge. “Also, in a way, it’s rather nice to do your first performance and know it’s going to go straight out.” And rather scary I would...
