Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul returns to reality television this week.  Her new reality show, Live To Dance, premieres with a special two-hour kickoff on Tuesday night at 8 on CBS.  The show will then move to its regular time slot on Wednesdays at 8.

Everyone’s favorite loopy judge has long been slammed for having a drinking problem.  She recently spoke out on CBS and claimed she has never been drunk in her life and does have a brain.  Abdul has admitted to having an addiction to painkillers in the past.  Does this mean that she will still be spouting nonsensical speeches from the judges table?  We can only hope so.

Not only is Abdul starring as a judge, she is also a producer.  The dance competition will range from dance soloists to pairs and group ensembles.  The show will feature 18 acts that will compete for the grand prize of $500,000.

Also starring on the show are Australian host Andrew Gunsberg.  Joining Paula on the judging panel are choreographer Travis Payne and Pussycat Dolls dancer and singer Kimberly Wyatt.  While Paula served as a singing judge on American Idol, it should be interesting to see her as a dance judge since she began her career as a dancer.  Abdul famously started her dance career as a choreographer for the Los Angeles Lakers before choreographing and appearing in Janet Jackson’s video, Nasty.

No word yet on if any of Abdul’s American Idol cohorts, such as recently departed American Idol judge Simon Cowell, may turn up on her show as surprise guests.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
