Argo is cementing itself as the red hot favourite to deliver success at the Oscars and is now offered at 1/7 from an original 5/1 when the betting opened, to become one of the biggest turnarounds this millennium. William Hill can also report considerable support for Emannuelle Riva to win the Best Actress award and she is currently 9/4 second favourite having been a double figure price in early January.

Christoph Waltz has had a mixed awards season but has been backed all week for the Best Supporting Actor (6/4) and is hot on the heels of Tommy Lee Jones who is offered at 6/5.

Adele is looking good for the Best Original Song Oscar at 1/10 although her performance may be overshadowed by a Bond or two failing to make it onto stage (3/1 all six appear) and it is 5/1 that Adele makes her baby blush by swearing in her acceptance speech!

“In the past the betting has proved a very good indicator for where the awards are heading and the late moves have been for Argo, Emannuelle Riva & Christoph Waltz all of whom have to have a great chance!” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
