It has today been confirmed that The Voice will not be terminating Cee-Lo Green’s contract despite his recently felony drug charge.
Rumours circulated earlier this week that the ‘Forget You’ singer could be facing the chop from the show due to his recent drug charges, however, that doesn’t seem to be the case, according to TMZ.
The singer recently pleaded not guilty to the charge for allegedly giving a woman ecstasy or MDMA during a dinner event in 2012. The woman claimed that Cee-Lo slipped ecstasy into her drink and she woke up in bed, naked, next to the singer. She claims she doesn’t remember how she got there – slip us a few Vodka’s too many on a night out and we barely remember getting home either.
It must also be noted in Cee-Lo’s defense that he has insisted what happened between them that night was consensual.
Cee-Lo’s lawyer, Blair Berk said: “We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago.
“Mr. Green encouraged a full and complete investigation of those claims and he was confident once conducted he would be cleared of having any wrongful intent”.
Cee-Lo is currently starring as a coach on the new season of The Voice, which is in its second week of the Battle Rounds at the moment, but it’s good news all round knowing the network aren’t firing him.
