Homeland-Tin-Man-is-Down

Some amazing news for Homeland fans surfaced earlier today! Homeland has been renewed for a fourth season by Showtime and will once again return next October.

We’re barely part way through this year’s season yet and we already have the brilliant news that we can expect more Carrie, Saul, Nick and co next year. However, the news poses more questions than it gives answers.

What’s going to happen with Carrie and Saul now that we know they’re working together? What will happen with Nick? He is currently on the run as the most wanted man in the US – will it be proven that he was not responsible for the Langley bombing? Who knows – but it’s interesting to speculate where the current season may be going and what sort of a cliffhanger we will be left on this time as the season 2 finale was a perfect cliffhanger to move into season three. With Dexter now gone, Homeland is Showtime’s biggest and most popular series, averaging 6.5 million viewers across all platforms, up 26 percent from last year. If the plots continue to amaze people, expect those figures to go up.

Not only that, it has also been revealed today that freshman period drama Masters of Sex (no disgusting puns here) will also return for a second run next year. Both series’ will feature a 12-episode run in the 2014-15 fall season.

Speaking about the news, Showtime’s entertainment president David Nevins said: “Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television’s most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons.

“The critical and audience reaction to Masters of Sex since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying. It’s a privilege to get to work with such talented and creative people as Alex Gansa and Michelle Ashford, as well as their tremendous casts. They have each created truly original shows, with distinctive voices that are among the most admired series on television.”
