Lamar Odom Sober And Ready To Return To The NBA?

Lamar Odom of NBA and Keeping Up With the Kardashians fame has certainly had a rough go of it in the media lately. First there was his DUI arrest on August 30, followed by reports of serious drug use and possible infidelity in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. Now it seems – naturally – that his basketball career may be in jeopardy, unless the 33-year old does something fast to turn it around.

TMZ broke the story yesterday that Lamar had plans to fly to New York to meet with a few different NBA team execs to possibly strike a deal. The main hold up is Lamar’s recent drug use, which is obviously a huge no-no for any professional athlete. Lamar says he’s clean, though, and he can prove it. The basketballer is reported to have tested clean on Tuesday, showing no drugs in his system. That same day, he also met up with members of the Kardashian family to hash out some issues, and sources say that he was not under the influence of drugs during the meeting.

Something went awry, though, because Lamar Odom is still in L.A. and not in New York working on his b-ball career. Insiders say that when he learned the media got wind of his plans, he became uneasy and scrapped them. There’s also no word on when, or if, Lamar will reschedule his meetings. Strange, no? Why would a guy that’s in the tabloids every day suddenly care that the media is in on his plans? And why would a guy that’s trying to rebuild his career and reestablish his image let some leaked travel plans put everything on hold?

Bottom line: Lamar may have tested clean for drugs, but there are still some huge issues going on, both with his marriage and his future with the NBA.

What do you think is next for Lamar Odom? Will we learn more on the next episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, or will the family downplay all the drama? Tell us in the comments!
