Reality TV has become a staple in our society in recent years introducing us to the good, the bad, and the ugly of those who try to navigate life under the viewership of thousands of “fans.” For some, the reality of consequences wasn’t quite clear. Take a look at some reality TV stars who have or will serve time in prison...

Dance Moms star, Abby Lee Miller, was charged with 20 counts of fraud in May of 2017 and was sentenced to 1 year and 1 day in federal prison, followed by 2 years of supervised release.

Miller had attempted to hide income from her Lifetime series and admitted to having $400,000 of unpaid taxes.

The Dance Moms instructor spoke out about claims against her saying quote, “I made mistakes. I trusted people. But ultimately I have to take responsibility for those mistakes. I have to take the blame.”

Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice (Jew-dee-chay) served an 11-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple offenses including wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud in 2014.

The mom of four has revealed details about her experience in prison including lots of lesbian sex and maggots in the food. However she claims to have met a lot of wonderful women during her sentence and said that they helped each other during her time in prison.

The reality star published a book 48 days after her release from prison titled Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again.

Former Bachelor of season 19, Chris Soules was arrested in April of 2017 in connection with a hit and run between his pickup truck and a tractor trailer that left one driver dead.

Soules has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident where a death occurred and prosecutors are trying to build a case against him that suggests alcohol was involved.

While the reality star has not been sentenced to prison yet, his trial will take place in mid-July and he is presumed to spend some time behind bars.
