Nobody was particularly surprised when Facebook rumors of Apollo Nida’s prison sentence were recently confirmed. If anything, the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star got off easy — he could have spent over a decade in the slammer, but instead, he’ll be in prison for a maximum of eight years. In the aftermath of this revelation, Kenya Moore is showing Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks a surprising level of sympathy.

Kenya Moore has been known to kick her frenemies when they’re down, so it came as a bit of a surprise when, in the aftermath of Apollo Nida’s sentencing, the reality star reached out with an unusually kind Twitter message. At the time, many of Kenya’s fans were busy bashing Apollo, claiming that Phaedra’s man was getting exactly what he deserved. Kenya, on the other hand, expressed a different opinion, tweeting, “You can’t kick someone while they are down, even if they fell trying to trip you. Offer them a hand instead.”

In a second tweet (which was later deleted), Kenya expressed concern for the children who would be forced to live without their father due to Apollo’s prison sentence. This is a concern shared by many of Phaedra’s fans — and it’s one with which other Real Housewives stars (such as Joe and Teresa Giudice) have been forced to contend.

Although her kind response come as a bit of a surprise, it makes sense in light of Kenya’s recent Twitter conversations with fans. When asked what quality she despised most in other people, the reality star answered, “Cruelty.” Perhaps she feels it would be cruel to wish Apollo Nida ill during such a difficult time.
