Kim Kardashian To Receive Warhol Treatment In Portrait Commissioned By Kanye West

He’s commended his baby mama time and time again on her selfie-snapping abilities, but Kanye West is now taking the next step in documenting Kim Kardashian’s beauty. Yeezus recently commissioned a Warhol-style portrait of his Keeping Up With The Kardashians beau — and the piece will be completed by Andy Warhol’s cousin!

We’ve seen Kim Kardashian on dozens of magazine covers, in countless Instagram photos and of course, flaunting her assets in the latest and greatest Kardashian Christmas card. But now, fans can expect a whole new take on the famous face, which is set to be the inspiration for a new Monica Warhol portrait.

If the artist’s name seems familiar, it should, for Monica Warhol is the cousin of 20th century icon Andy Warhol. She, however, views Kim as the real icon, praising (or insulting?) the celeb for being “famous for nothing” and possessing a visage that “looks like a human Barbie.”

Although she’s receiving the Warhol treatment, Kim’s portrait may look somewhat different from the beloved silkscreen Marilyn Monroe (with which, when finished, Kim’s version will surely be compared). Her style may be heavily reminiscent of her cousin’s silkscreen wonders, but Monica Warhol insists that she’s never set out to create imitations. She explained to the New York Post, “I never studied Andy. I never owned a book about him until about a year ago.”

We’ll definitely be eager to see the end result! Do you think Kim Kardashian makes a good candidate for a Warhol-style portrait? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
