Project Runway host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn have won the Emmy for outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program, the first pair to win the award. Meanwhile, CBS’ Undercover Boss won for outstanding reality program again.
Klum and Gunn are the third and fourth winners in the category’s six year history; Tom Bergeron broke Jeff Probst’s streak last year; Probst wasn’t nominated this year. How exactly Heidi qualifies as a host and not just a judge is another question altogether, although she was nominated by herself in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
All these awards were presented at the Creative Arts ceremony on Saturday. Other winners included Deadliest Catch for best editing and Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen for creative achievement in interactive media. The best reality competition will be announced Sunday during the prime-time Emmy broadcast.
