Jersey Shore star's drug addiction caused by Dancing with the Stars injury

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s addiction to opioid prescription painkillers began with an injury he sustained on Dancing with the Stars, he says

The Situation is now a spokesperson for a drug that’s used to treat opioid addiction, Suboxone, that’s created a campaign called Reset Reality, which says, “addiction to opioid prescription painkillers is better faced together than alone.”

He told told the AP, “I was suffering a disease” and after rehab, had to shoot the finals season of Jersey Shore. “A little part of me was like, ‘How am I gonna get through this?’ but if you watched I didn’t have one drink.”
