Jenny from the block was in the house at last night’s season 17 premiere of Dancing With the Stars. Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend, Casper Smart, were there to support her best friend, Leah Remini as she made her dancing debut with professional partner, Tony Dovolani.

Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini may seem like an odd pairing for celebrity besties, but the twosome have been tight for years. Jennifer stood by her best friend’s side during her recent split with the Church of Scientology so it was no surprise to see her front and center to cheer on her best friend during her Fox Trot.

Having a full-fledged superstar in the audience seemed to excite some of the other contestants. Christina Milian tweeted, “Omg @JLo is here?!!? I gotta Dance in front of Jenny From the Block!? Lol! I love it! #Motivation baby! #TeamMilianBallas #DWTS”. Snooki — who it seems is choosing to go with her given name, Nicole Polizzi, on the show instead of the name that made her famous said, “Who can say they danced in front of J.Lo?! I love her, she’s amazing! She’s supporting everybody, so it’s cool!”

Leah gave a strong first performance that even seemed to make JLo tear up a bit. She also earned rave reviews from head judge, Len Goodman, who told Leah, “You’ve done a terrific job tonight. You should be proud.”

Bruno Tonioli took it one step further – doesn’t he always? – by telling Leah that she showed “sass and class’ during her performance, but next week she should “twerk” like Miley Cyrus.

So what did Jennifer Lopez think about Leah’s performance? After Leah scored a solid 21 points, Jennifer tweeted, “Here at #DWTS to support my girl @LeahRemini!!!! She gave it her all and couldn’t be more proud of her!!!”

Do you think Jennifer Lopez showing up will help Leah get more votes? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
