Tameka Foster Files For Emergency Custody Following Usher Raymond V’s Near Drowning

Yesterday, The Voice judge Usher nearly lost his son Usher Raymond V in a terrifying pool accident. While we’re glad to say that the five-year-old boy is safe, this near tragedy could result in the singer losing custody of his child.

Usher produces hit after hit and has proven a particularly effective judge and mentor on The Voice, but according to ex-wife Tameka Foster, the singer’s talents don’t extend to fatherhood. He certainly was not on the scene when his son Usher Raymond V found himself caught in a pool drain. Instead, the celeb had left little Usher’s aunt in charge. Fortunately, although the relative and an assisting housekeeper were unable to free the boy from the pool drain in which he was caught, two contractors quickly arrived on the scene to lend their assistance. It is likely their efforts that kept this from turning into the ultimate tragedy.

In the aftermath of this accident, Tameka Foster is seeking emergency custody of Usher Raymond V. She feels that her ex-husband has created a “dangerous environment” for the boy by allowing individuals she’s deemed less than responsible to provide care while Usher is away. Tameka finds Usher Raymond V’s aunt particularly problematic, complaining of overly physical discipline, as well as a past incident in which the aunt allowed a stalker in a home where Usher and his kids were staying.

At the moment, Usher has full custody of both of his children, while Tameka Foster only possesses limited custodial rights. She’s hoping to reverse this setup so that she can be the primary caretaker.

Do you think Tameka Foster has a point? Is Usher to blame for his son’s near-death experience? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!
