As Janet discovers Rachel and Kevin in bed together, she is incredibly angry and tells them both to leave. In her drunken state, Rachel is unable to comprehend how furious her friend is. She’s also unprepared for the fact that Kevin thinks their liaison is the start of a brand new relationship. But for Sean, the revelation of this one night stand is the final straw and he finds himself unable to control his anger when he comes face to face with Kevin.

Janet and Rachel’s relationship isn’t looking any better in the cold light of day. Janet feels used and upset and is barely able to look at Rachel, let alone speak to her while their working partnership is forced to move onto a different level. But Janet finds unexpected comfort in the form of Rob, as he provides the mature and understanding hand of friendship.

Despite their problems, Scott and Bailey still have to work together when a Missing from Home Report soon becomes a murder investigation. The murder in question is that of Kenneth Valentine who is found in Oldham Town Centre. While the team ponder the incident in haste, Janet and Rachel discover that a spate of street robberies may lead them to the killer.

Meanwhile Rachel is forced to take a cold, hard look at the way her chaotic life impacts on her work. There’s also a shock for Syndicate 9 when they’re left reeling following the revelation of the identity of the mole on their team.

Scott and Bailey continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
