Governor Cuomo Warns Khloe Kardashian Over Copyright Infringement

Looks like Khloe Kardashian is in a bit of hot water! The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star recently received a warning from Governor Cuomo. What’s the problem — and will Khloe do anything to fix it?

Khloe Kardashin is very proud of her line of T-shirts, but at this point, it looks like she might have to make a few changes. According to New York Governor Cuomo, Khloe’s clothing line may be guilty of copyright infringement. The shirt in question looks very much like a the logo of a New York farm program, in which the Statue of Liberty is depicted in front of a row of crops. The only difference? In the New York version, the caption states that it’s the “Pride of New York,” while Khloe’s shirt reads “Rich Soil of New York.”

Not only does Governor Cuomo’s warning letter demand Khloe to back off on the shirt’s production, it also asks for an accounting of any profits the shirt has garnered thus far. All this was explained by Department of Agriculture lawyer Susan Rosenthal in a letter sent to Rich Soil last week. The lawyer pointed out that, “The State of New York has invested substantial time, effort and resources creating the respect and goodwill associated with the trademark.”

At this point, there’s still no word from Khloe as to whether she will actually take the governor’s advice, but based on the fact that the shirt is absent from Rich Soil’s website, we assume that she’s decided to play it safe. Not a bad idea, especially in light of Khloe and Lamar’s recent charity scandal! Hopefully, for her sake, she’ll be a little more careful next time.
