Hollywood is full of engagements and weddings lately, isn’t it?  Hugh Heffner tied the knot, Kelly Clarkson got engaged, and Kat Von D also earned a sparkler.  It seems that all those wedding bells are contagious, as The Hills stars Doug Reinhardt and Allie Lutz got engaged over the weekend!

While you may not remember them as large players in The Hills, Doug dated Lauren toward the end of the show’s run, and Allie was portrayed as one of Lauren’s high school rivals.  In reality, Doug and Allie were high school sweethearts, and have dated on and off for quite a few years, giving Doug some time to date a number of Hollywood’s most notorious ladies like Paris Hilton and Amanda Bynes.  During an interview in 2009, Paris even admitted she had big plans for their relationship.  “He’s going to be my husband”, the heiress gushed to E!  “I’m really in love and really happy”.  The pair broke up a little under a year later.  It seems that Doug has sewed his wild oats, however, and popped the question to Allie while they were vacationing in Anguilla.

Allie tweeted the news, saying “Cat’s out of the bag… ? #engaged #bestfriend #highschoolsweetheart @ anguilla,”

Reinhardt hasn’t been laying low since the show.  He’s played professional baseball for both Los Angeles’ Anaheim Angels and the Baltimore Orioles, as well as releasing a series of workout DVDs entitled the Reinhardt Kettebell System.  As for Allie, she’s stayed out of the spotlight since the show ended.

Congratulations to Doug and Allie!  Do you think they’ll make it to the altar?  Let us know in the comments!
