Emma Roberts has been cast in the highly anticipated third season of American Horror Story.

The third season, titled “Coven” is set to revolve around witches and the supernatural. It will be set in three different cities, one of which being New Orleans and another being a city that has experienced true horror in the past.

Roberts, who starred in Scream 4, is the latest star to sign up to the hit FX show. She will play the “Party Girl” character that we have been continuously talking about over the last few weeks.

The Party Girl character, named Madison, is a “young and sexy Hollywood-actress type character” and will appear in at least 9 episodes, with the potential for even more.

Patti LuPone and Angela Bassett have already been cast along with Gabourey Sidibe. Unfortunately, it is not yet known what type of characters they will be playing, but at least we have a face to the character of the Party Girl, and I think Roberts will do a good job.

Not only that, Roberts will be joining real-life boyfriend Evan Peters along with, Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Sarah Paulson when the show returns later this year.

Meanwhile, American Horror Story and The Big Bang Theory lead the way at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Both of which scored a whopping six nominations each when the nominations were announced earlier today.

The show is nominated in the Best Movie or Mini-Series category whilst both James Cromwell and Zachary Quinto battle it out in the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series.

Jessica Lange is nominated for Best actress in a Movie or Mini-Series and Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe are nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a movie or Mini-Series, for their roles on the show.

American Horror Story returns for its third run later this year.
