A long-time Survivor tradition is about to end.  Every even-numbered season since Survivor: Marquesas (season four), the show’s finale has been held in New York City.  But that May tradition is about to end its run as the upcoming Survivor: Caramoan — Fans Vs. Favorites finale switches things up and takes the finale out of the Ed Sullivan Theater and pushes it back to the west coast.  Why the change?  Read what CBS had to say with our scoop inside this article!

Instead of broadcasting from the Big Apple, the Survivor: Caramoan — Fans Vs. Favorites finale and reunion show will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 12.  As always, the finale will swallow three total hours from 8-11 p.m.  The first two hours feature pre-taped segments, which showcase the final days and the last Tribal Council filmed in the Philippines.  The last hour is the traditional one-hour reunion show hosted by Jeff Probst.

CBS announced the news within a press release detailing a slew of the network’s upcoming finales.  The press release did not indicate why the location change was made, but many fans are speculating it might be tied to Probst’s daytime talk show schedule.  But a CBS spokesperson tells RealityTVMagazine.com that’s not the case saying the location swap was made because there were “some scheduling issues.”

What are your thoughts on the spring finale broadcasting from Los Angeles instead of New York City?  As a fan, is it something you care about or does it not matter to you at all?  Looking ahead to the finale, who do you think is currently the most likely castaway to walk away with the $1 million grand prize and title of sole Survivor?  Sound off and leave a comment below!
