Normally, when we chant four more years, we’re referring to the re-election effort of one politician or another. But this time, we’re cheering because Ellen Degeneres will be on TV for another four years! The former American Idol judge’s talk show has been renewed until 2017. We’re sure the next few years of Ellen will be every bit as hilarious as the last decade.

Were you worried about Ellen DeGeneres possibly leaving daytime television? There’s no need to fret, for producers have confirmed that Ellen’s popular talk show will be returning for another four years! And watching the show is easier than ever before, as nearly 200 stations (including 10 from NBC) have committed to airing it through 2017. We’re sure this bit of good news had Ellen doing her infamous happy dance!

In a recent press release, Ken Werner of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution gushed about America’s daytime sweetheart. “Ellen is quite simply the best. Day in and day out she and her team produce a unique and compelling hour of entertainment which is appointment television for legions of women.”

While we’re sure Ellen’s entertainment value has something to do with the show’s renewal, in the end we know the decision is all about ratings. And that certainly is a strength of the hit daytime program! In addition to receiving record ratings week after week, Ellen has received a total of 12 Emmy Awards to date. Although Ellen’s mere presence is enough to draw viewers, her success is also aided by the appearances of several of today’s biggest celebs, including Jessica Simpson, Bruno Mars and Sofia Vergara.
