Emmerdale shopkeeper David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) is of course somewhat reluctantly engaged to gorgeous barmaid Priya Sharma, having ditched his former wife-of-convenience, Alicia Gallagher

However, in episodes of the soap which will air next week, a plot twist will once again see Alicia (Natalie Anderson) donning a bridal gown and standing next to David as his wife – sort of!

The drama begins on Tuesday, March 19th when Home Farm manager Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) tells Alicia that they need to create a glossy brochure for the estate’s new wedding services…

To that end, Megan tasks Alicia with finding models to pose as a bride and groom, and when Priya (Fiona Wade) gets to hear about it, she immediately volunteers herself and David to be the models.

Reluctantly, Alicia agrees to suggest the idea to Megan, who, much to Alicia and David’s chagrin, says it’s a great idea.

However, in the episode that airs on Thursday, March 21st, we’ll see David and Priya arrive at Home Farm for the photo shoot, but disaster strikes when the make-up applied to Priya’s face causes an allergic reaction and brings her out in an awful rash!

Keen not to lose out on having hired the photographers etc., it’s suggested to Alicia that she stand in as the bride, but of course, nobody’s comfortable with that arrangement, save for Megan, who only wants to recoup what she’s paid for the shoot.

However, keen to keep her boss on side, Alicia agrees and she and David – who can’t help but notice how beautiful Alicia looks – pose as the bride and groom, and even share a kiss.

But angry Priya later demands that the publication of the pictures be stopped, however, Megan’s having none of it and points out that she and David have already signed the release forms…

However, Alicia has not, but if she refuses to, she risks getting the sack, but if she allows the pictures to be printed, she knows that Priya’s going to make David’s life hell.

So what will she do? Find out next week! For now, here’s a look at one of this week’s episodes…
