January 23rd, 2012 by Sarah. No comments

Chris Bisson, who of course plays businessman and groom-to-be Jai Sharma in Emmerdale, has revealed that on the day he filmed Jai’s wedding to Charity Tate (Emma Atkins) he was freezing cold!

But because the wedding suit he had to wear was a tight fit, poor Chris couldn’t wear any thermals underneath.

He told the PA, “I’m wearing a sharp navy blue Reiss suit but it’s a little bit tight. And I do struggle with it.

“I can’t wear my thermals underneath it because it would make the trousers even tighter – and then I can’t bend down to tie my shoelaces.”

The wedding scenes, which air on January 26th, were filmed in a chilly Harrogate back in mid-December, and of how the day goes for Jai and Charity, Chris – who’s also starred in Coronation Street, Shameless, Prime Suspect and hit comedy film East Is East – said, “He’s hoping to get married [but] he’s a bit stressed because Charity hadn’t arrived…

“The day is going quite well, with the family in tow, but Charity is late and at Cain’s house with Debbie.”

Debbie – who’s played by Charley Webb – has of course previously refused to go to Charity and Jai’s wedding, however, on the day, she relents and attends the ceremony having poured her heart out to her mum about being pregnant with Andy’s (Kelvin Fletcher) baby and her troubled relationship with Cameron (Dominic Power).
