When Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) died on New Year’s Day, 10.4million of us tuned in to see her off to the great Square in the sky in the arms of her son David Wicks (Michael French).

And Pat’s funeral is set to be a similarly emotional event when it’s aired on January 13th. We have sneak peek pictures for you, and spoilers from the episode.

As we reported earlier, this episode also sees the return of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) and she wastes no time in hooking up with her mate Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and the two are soon causing trouble, fired up by alcopops that Lucy smuggled into Pat’s funeral service…

Meanwhile, Carol Jackson (Linsey Coulson) is quietly rekindling her relationship with David, who is of course Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) dad. And that isn’t going to go down well with Carol’s brother Derek (Jamie Foreman) who has an old score to settle with David.

But getting back to Lauren’s bad behaviour, her parents Max (Jake Wood) and Tanya (Jo Joyner) are horrified when they spot their daughter throwing up behind a gravestone during Pat’s funeral.

They immediately drag her off home to give her a good telling off, and as a row escalates to screaming pitch, a drunk Lauren threatens to throw herself out of a window, forcing Max to manhandle her onto her bed.

The Daily Mirror goes on to say, “It’s clear to the Brannings that they’ll have to take urgent action to get Lauren’s life back on track, but with all the stress that she’s been under lately, how will they feel when it emerges that they may be part of the problem?”
