Well, it seems like a long way off right now, but a BBC insider has told the Daily Express that Jennifer Saunders IS preparing to write a new series of hit comedy Absolutely Fabulous, which would air in 2013.

As fans of the show will know, over Christmas and New Year, we were treated to two new episodes of the sitcom, with another promised for later this year to tie in with the televising of this year’s Olympics.

The insider told the paper, “The viewing figures prove it’s as popular as ever and there’s a real appetite for more episodes.

“Obviously it’s down to Jennifer to write more and getting all the actors together takes some organising.

“But the current understanding is there will be another Christmas special for the end of 2012 and then more episodes the following year.”

And of course, Jennifer – who’s currently recovering from breast cancer – recently revealed that she’s planning to write and film an Absolutely Fabulous movie on the French Riviera.

Of the project, she said, “I’m definitely going to do it. I’m aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the South of France in the spring.”

And fair play – who wouldn’t!

I just hope that in addition to Ab Fab returning, Ruth Jones and James Corden will write at least one new episode of Gavin and Stacey, but for preference, a whole series!

Would you like to see Ab Fab – and/or Gavin and Stacey – back on TV?

In the meantime, here are a few blooper clips from the making of Ab Fab over the years. I never tire of watching these!

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella.
