Jennifer Lopez rang in 2012 with her new boyfriend, Caspar Smart, in Miami Beach.  The American Idol judge was seen enjoying the holiday weekend by dining, dancing and cruising with her new beau and her twins. Read on to find out just how Jennifer Lopez celebrated the New Year.

After announcing her split from husband, Marc Anthony, this summer Jennifer Lopez has tried to keep a low profile. Usually preferring hats, sunglasses and little make-up trying not to attract attention. She was briefly linked to Bradley Cooper, but was soon seen everywhere with her 24-year-old back-up dancer, Casper Smart.

The 42-year-old American Idol judge and her beau were seen on Thursday night at the Miami club Amnesia. A source at the club told People Magazine, “They were very sexy with each other, dancing and bouncing around and making out,”. The source continued,”They couldn’t help but attract attention, although Jennifer was trying to lie low from onlookers.”

On Friday, the duo, along with Jennifer’s 3-year-old twins boarded a $10 million yacht that is owned by a friend. “Jennifer and Casper held hands and had their arms around each other,” a source tells People Magazine of their day-to-evening cruise. “The twins were having fun, and everyone seemed to get along.”

On Saturday, Jennifer and her daughter hit up Bal Harbour Shops for a little pre-New Year’s shopping. To ring in the new year Jennifer Lopez and Caspar Smart joined friends at famous Miami hot spot Soho Beach House for a private dinner.

We hope Jennifer Lopez enjoys her downtime because she will soon be back on television when season 11 of American Idol premieres on January, 18, on Fox.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
