Can’t get enough of Ryan Seacrest? Fans of the American Idol host might get to see Ryan Seacrest every morning on the Today show. Keep reading to find out if the rumors that Ryan Seacrest will replace longtime Today host Matt Lauer have any truth to them.
Ryan Seacrest seems to be everywhere these days. A radio personality, TV host, and Executive Producer are just some of the titles on Ryan’s impressive resume. Now it’s rumored that Ryan might be moving from E! News to the Today Show, if Matt Lauer doesn’t renew his contract at the end of next year.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Ryan Seacrest is in preliminary conversations with the head honchos at NBC. Matt Lauer’s contract expires next December and if Matt chooses to leave the hit morning show, executives have some big shoes to fill. Matt Lauer has been part of the Today show family since 1997 and he held down the fort when Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira left. The source shared with the WSJ that Ryan is “one of NBC’s top replacement choices.”
Some people might question Ryan’s news anchor chops, but people can’t deny he has grown his Fox hosting gig into a very successful career. What do you think of Ryan Seacrest as the number one choice to replace Matt Lauer? If not Ryan, who would you like to see as the Today show’s new host? Let us know what you think, leave a comment below.
